Out Of The Jungle!!!

WE ARE BACK!!!
WE WENT IN TWO & CAME OUT THREE!!!!
Yes its true … We are going to have a BABY & It’s a GIRL!!!

We can’t even begin to tell you how hard these last 3 months have been … BUT because of your prayers we not only survived but we learned, grew & managed to finish strong!!! Thank you so much for remembering us and lifting us up on a daily basis – we felt your prayers and they are the only reason we were able to make it!!!!
We would love to tell you in detail everything that has happened but trust me – it would be VERY long J So instead we have chosen our favorite pictures from our time in the jungle and will let them tell our story!! Lol.

Quick Thoughts:
** Both of our sister’s weddings were BEAUTIFUL & PERFECT!!
** Jess WAS pregnant the entire time in the jungle!!! (poor adam!) The baby is due February 12th.
** We are in the process of buying furniture and settling into our house in Iquitos …
** From here we will start researching our people group – find where they live and work out a plan on how to best reach them. There are so many – please pray for guidance as we start this God sized task!!

We love you guys!!!

our house for the first MONTH ... too bad it rained every night and the rain flap didn't work... we were just a bit damp/soaked every morning ...

Adam filtering our water ... with this FINE water filter it only took 4 hours to fill the bucket

after 2 hours we finally got the wet wood to burn ... every meal .... every day ... so hungry

clearing land and diggin holes for our house

the frame of the house ... which we made with machettes & a hatchet ... and our bare hands ... no nails just vines ... it was just a little work  :)

the finished product!!! so much better than a tent - the first floor was our table, 'kitchen' and fire pit ... we slept upstairs with the rats ...

the kitchen, table & fire pit ... adam made it all!!!

our bed ... so comfy - it was just a bit slanted and uneven ....

our drinking water ... we thought it was clean until we sat bottled water next to it .... hmmm, not so clean ...

the PSYCHO ants ... truly the ants were out to get him ... this would be the 4th time they carried off our food ... it wouldn't be so sad if we had been given more than $7 to BUY food for a week .... and there they go - takin it all

and again ....

and again ....

and again ... finally we hung up our shelf with fishing line and they weren't able to crawl down it

unfortunately - with no access to our yummy food - they found Adam's hammock ... the hammock he made himself ... for an entire week & sat in for 1 DAY

a little snake we found ...

cooking!!

Adam cooking ... he made some very amazing creations out of our rice ... potatoes & noodles ...

Jess in her hammock ... apparently the ants only wanted mine!!!

MEAT!

Adam the Jungle Man -- complete with scary beard, scary hatchet and scary shirt...

Jess washin dishes in our 'sink'

making lunch on a banana leaf - this wasn't an every day thing :) we never had meat, so tuna was quite a treat!

Jess ate it ALL ... being pregnant isn't good for Adam ...

hiking through the jungle

jess lookin sharp with her umbrella - she used it to protect herself from the jungle sun :)

ADAM on the last day - the last day of the BEARD - YEAH! I made him shave IMMEDIATELY because I couldn't see HIS face ...

the new ADAM :) 30 pounds lighter (honestly)

Definitely a young person's game where you are! We've come a long way from Appointment Week, huh? Congratulations on the baby and Adam, you look like a communist guerrilla with the beard!
