Well as you can see from our 'side' pictures, we climbed a volcano!! It wasn't my idea, believe it or not!! In fact I was a little bit scared....something about hot lava melting my tennis shoes .... smelling the burnt rubber & knowing that the only thing separating me from that fiery death is really thin paper mache feeling rock!!
At the time it seemed like a good idea but after hours of being sandwiched in between massive buses on what can only be described as a tiny plastic toy (which at its top speed can go 40 miles an hour!!) we were exhausted!
But we had a great time and we were able to find several ‘safe’ back roads (by safe I mean that there weren’t any bandits with guns to rob us!) up in the mountains that had breathtaking views of the towns and farms below.
Plus it was a sunny beautiful day…. I am just glad that Adam’s birthday isn’t until July because if it was next week I am just sure that he would have all of us jumping out of a plane holding a t-shirt over our heads instead of a parachute!!!
We also had a perfect ending to our day, which was when we returned home, we discovered that our bathroom had been gutted and the water turned off… I will add at this point that we were very very dusty and dirty and had numerous dead bugs in our teeth etc. We were able to go next door and take an ice cold shower…. Which is better than being dirty (I think) however, the real fun came when we realized that we had to use the bathroom next door as well!!! Yeah, so come 2:30am I had to mosey on over to the neighbors to go to the bathroom!!! I am so glad that we decided outhouses were old school cause that is NO BUENO!
