Lava, Tree Growing Worms & Motorbikes...

Driving the scooters!!
(And we aren't standing on the side of the highway...
it just looks like it!)

Our school building.... although we have school outside of it!

My teacher and our table in the beautiful garden!

Eating chocolate bananas

The scary worm growing trees on its back....

Well as you can see from our 'side' pictures, we climbed a volcano!! It wasn't my idea, believe it or not!! In fact I was a little bit scared....something about hot lava melting my tennis shoes .... smelling the burnt rubber & knowing that the only thing separating me from that fiery death is really thin paper mache feeling rock!!

We did survive though and now our friend Ginny has the best birthday story ever.... Well it might tie with Lori's birthday (who is another girl on our team) Her birthday was this week (Ginny's was 2 weeks ago) Since we had gone to see a volcano for Ginny’s birthday it seemed only right to do something equally as fun for Lori’s…. SO we rented scooters for the entire day!

At the time it seemed like a good idea but after hours of being sandwiched in between massive buses on what can only be described as a tiny plastic toy (which at its top speed can go 40 miles an hour!!) we were exhausted!

But we had a great time and we were able to find several ‘safe’ back roads (by safe I mean that there weren’t any bandits with guns to rob us!) up in the mountains that had breathtaking views of the towns and farms below.

Plus it was a sunny beautiful day…. I am just glad that Adam’s birthday isn’t until July because if it was next week I am just sure that he would have all of us jumping out of a plane holding a t-shirt over our heads instead of a parachute!!!

We also had a perfect ending to our day, which was when we returned home, we discovered that our bathroom had been gutted and the water turned off… I will add at this point that we were very very dusty and dirty and had numerous dead bugs in our teeth etc.  We were able to go next door and take an ice cold shower…. Which is better than being dirty (I think) however, the real fun came when we realized that we had to use the bathroom next door as well!!! Yeah, so come 2:30am I had to mosey on over to the neighbors to go to the bathroom!!! I am so glad that we decided outhouses were old school cause that is NO BUENO!

Needless to say our week has been action packed :) On another note, language is going really well and Adam is getting to help remodel the bathroom in our house :) I wouldn't be excited about this particular event but Adam is bored in the afternoon's and loves this type of thing. Plus our family is super excited about it.

This is the last week we have with our current teachers and next week we will get new ones so that is a bit sad since we are just starting to get into a groove, but it will be nice to have variety. Adam is hoping he might get to bail on class altogether so you can pray about that when you think of it!!

Other than that we are doing really well. We miss all of you so much but love all of your comments and emails! Have a wonderful week and we will talk to you next week!

Love,
Adam & Jess
